Hand Sanitizer Recipe
Hello Friends
During this time everyone is scrambling to buy more hand sanitizers and due to the high demand the stores seem to be out of it, for the most part. I suggest making your own if you can’t find any. This is also a good alternative to the harsh, drying ones in the store. Of all the hand sanitizer recipes I found, I liked this one the best from my favorite essential oil company Floracopia.
Recipe:
1/4 Cup Aloe Vera Gel
1 TBS Isopropyl Alcohol (we used 91% alcohol, use a bit more if you have a lower percentage rubbing alcohol)
1 TSP Vegetable Glycerin (please use certified non-GMO sourced from coconuts)
1-2 TBS Colloidal Silver (amount depends on desired consistency)
10-20 drops of either: “Legends” from Floracopia or “Onguard” from Doterra or “Thieves” from Young Living. (Can also do a blend of tea tree, lavender, thyme, sage and lemon)
Mix aloe and alcohol well, then add in the glycerin and essential oil until well combined. Stir in the colloidal silver. Then pour it all in a pump dispenser or gel tube. Just one pump or squeeze is all you need. Make sure to rub it all over your hands (palms and back) and let it dry. Always remember to spot check on skin and wait 24hrs to make sure there is no irritation.
If you would like a stronger version of this, you can add the alcohol to 60% of this entire recipe. If you are adding more alcohol, you might want to decrease the amount of the essential oils.
Remember, frequent hand washing with soap and water is always the best!
